ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT VISION

WCA Lafayette Athletics exists to support the mission of Westminster Christian Academy by partnering with families to develop student-athletes who honor Christ through their character, leadership, service, and pursuit of excellence.

Athletics provides a unique opportunity to teach biblical values while helping students grow physically, mentally, socially, and spiritually. Through competition, training, and teamwork, student-athletes learn discipline, perseverance, accountability, and leadership that prepare them for lives of significance.

As an athletic department, we are committed to developing programs that compete at a high level while reflecting the core values of our school:

LOVE – We build a culture of encouragement, unity, and respect that reflects Christ's love.

TRUTH – We compete with integrity, take responsibility for our actions, and honor God in victory and defeat.

SERVICE – We place the team above ourselves, serve our school and community, and use our talents for God's glory.

Our goal is to develop champions in competition, leaders in service, and young men and women who will impact their families, churches, communities, and future generations for Christ.

Our Core Values

CHRIST FIRST

Jesus Christ is the foundation of our athletic department. Our identity is not found in wins, losses, statistics, or championships, but in who we are in Christ. We strive to honor Him in the way we compete, lead, serve, and represent WCA Lafayette.

PURSUE EXCELLENCE

We believe excellence honors God. We expect our student-athletes to maximize their God-given abilities through discipline, preparation, effort, and accountability. Excellence is a daily commitment, not an occasional achievement.

COMPETE WITH PURPOSE

We compete to win and pursue championships, but never at the expense of our values. We believe toughness, discipline, sportsmanship, and faith can coexist. We compete with passion while representing Christ and WCA Lafayette with class.

DEVELOP LEADERS

Athletics is one of the greatest leadership classrooms available. We intentionally develop young men and women who lead through character, courage, service, and influence both on and off the field of play.

SERVE OTHERS

Great teammates and great leaders put others before themselves. We teach our student-athletes to serve their teammates, coaches, school, and community while using their gifts to impact others for Christ.

HONOR THE TEAM

We value commitment, sacrifice, and unity. Individual success is celebrated, but team success is prioritized. We believe the strongest programs are built when individuals embrace their role and commit to something bigger than themselves.
